  • 28 Mar 2015 10:30am - 'A Grand Day Out'

    Venue: St Mary’s Church Hall

'A Grand Day Out' - Saturday, 28 March 2015 10.30-5.30 at St Mary’s Church Hall, Wistaston

A Grand Day Out is a fundraising event to celebrate the life of Ceri Palmer Howells, an amazing young lady who was a former Wistaston Rose Queen and active member of the local community.  Ceri died suddenly in March 2014 at the young age of 22 years from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome S.A.D.S. This is a little known condition that causes at least 12 young people to die every week in the UK. Ceri's family are keen to support the work of Cardiac Risk in the Young - CRY, a charity that funds research into the condition and helps support bereaved families.

The day will feature great food, fun activities, a grand prize draw and an opportunity to find out more about the work of CRY and how you can help.

Tickets are £5, which includes entrance to the event and a cream tea or savoury option.  Tickets are available from St Mary's Church Office, 01270 567119,, Ceri's website:  or direct from Robert and Alison Howells on 01270 569327.

If you are unable to join us but would like to donate, we are happy to receive donations to Ceri's memorial fund, which is in aid of the vital work of CRY.  For more information about CRY please go to
